BREAKING NEWS: Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi continues to be linked with a move to Arsenal

The Real Sociedad midfielder’s future has been the subject of intense speculation over the last 12 months, and it was only last summer that he seemed destined to move to Liverpool before the deal fell through.

Since then, rumours have seemingly gathered pace, claiming that Arsenal could be in the running to sign Zubimendi this summer.

Real Madrid have also been heavily linked with signing the Spain international, who has a €60million (£51.2million) buyout clause in his contract with Sociedad.

If Martin Zubimendi does complete a move to Arsenal, he could go on to be a replacement for Jorginho. The Italy international is out of contract with the Gunners in the summer, and it remains unclear if he will sign an extension.

If Jorginho does depart, Zubimendi could fill the void left by the midfielder in the squad. He would also join Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard and Mikel Merino as regular figures in Mikel Arteta’s matchday squad going into next season.
Arsenal remain confident in signing Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad this summer. The 25-year-old midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid recently, but the Gunners still expect to secure his signature.
